The challenge

For nearly 20 years, Oregon Consensus has helped communities and government leaders work through complex public policy challenges together. Facing rising polarization, changing stakeholder needs and funding uncertainty, it wanted to sharpen its direction and expand its impact while protecting its reputation as a trusted, nonpartisan partner.

What we did

We led a strategy reset with the organization’s team using the Trigate method. Through guided preparation, strategy coaching and collaborative working sessions, the team examined its changing environment, defined its aspirations and weighed alternative paths forward.

The process moved the team beyond traditional strategic planning to deliberate choices about where to focus its expertise, how to strengthen partnerships and how to build collaborative capacity across the state.

The result

Clearer direction. A shared aspiration to become a catalyst for collaborative capacity and more resilient communities.

Why it matters

Strategy isn’t only for companies under competitive pressure. Mission-driven organizations face their own disruption, and the same discipline of shared choices and coordinated action helps them do more good with what they have.
